Since 2006 our engineers accompanied and advised Holzhof Schmidt and Schmidt Energie GmbH in Aspang in the field of optimization and coverage of their energy supply.
The combined heat and power generation plant of Schmidt Energie has been built under the first Green Electricity Act in Austria, however, the heat generated could not all be used in the company's own wood drying chambers.
Our office has advised the company and taken engineering measures to increase efficiency.
1. INNCREASED EFFICIENCY
Foundation of Biowärme Aspang: The municipalitys of Aspang and Aspangberg are being supplied with heat by Biowärme Aspang, using waste heat from Schmidt-Energie.
2. INCREASED EFFICIENCY
In agreement with the local power company EVN the production of LIST Holding was connected to the heat supply from Schmidt-Energie.
3. INCREASED EFFICIENCY
A storage buffer and a wood chip boiler for winter operations were built.
4. INCREASED EFFICIENCY
At Holzhof Schmidt in addition to the combined heat and power generation plant, a pelleting plant was installed with an upstream conveyor belt dryer .
5. INCREASED EFFICIENCY
By installing a flue gas condensation unit, the flue gas is cooled from 170 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees. The heat extracted from the flue gas is fed to the heat supply of Biowärme Aspang and LIST. The amounts of heat generated that fall below 50 degrees C are used for the conveyor belt dryer.
The annual efficiency of the combined heat and power plant could be optimized to a maximum by the measures taken by Büro für erneuerbare Energie Riebenbauer.
